AT&T Data Breach Settlement: Claim Your Share Now

If you were an AT&T customer between 2019 and 2024, you might be entitled to a financial compensation. The company has agreed to establish a $177 million fund to resolve a class-action lawsuit stemming from two data breaches that compromised the security of millions of users.

What Happened in the Data Breaches?

The company identified two significant incidents. The first, detected in March 2024, exposed sensitive personal customer information, including addresses and social security numbers. A second, even larger event, subsequently revealed the detailed call and text message records of the vast majority of its subscribers.

Who is Eligible for the Settlement?

Eligibility for the settlement is divided into two main groups:

  • Class 1: Individuals whose personally identifiable information (such as social security data) was compromised in the first incident.
  • Class 2: Account holders or users whose communication records were improperly accessed during the second event.

How and When to Submit Your Claim?

The deadline to request your share of the fund has been extended to December 18, 2024. The process is straightforward and is completed online:

  1. Access the official website established for the settlement.
  2. Complete the claim form. For this, it is helpful to have your AT&T account number or the class member identifier you should have received by mail.
  3. Select your preferred payment method, such as direct deposit or a physical check.

How Much Money Could You Receive?

The compensation amount varies depending on the severity of the impact on each user. Those whose most sensitive information, such as their social security number, was breached will receive a higher compensation. Customers who can demonstrate direct financial losses due to the breaches are prioritized for higher payments, while the remaining affected individuals will share the leftover funds.

If you have questions about the process or your eligibility, you can contact the settlement hotline at (833) 890-4930 for assistance.

Don’t miss this opportunity; be sure to submit your application before the deadline in December.
