Fortnite Announces a Dream Collaboration: Gorillaz to Star in the Next Battle Pass Musical

Epic Games has officially unveiled one of the most anticipated collaborations: the virtual band Gorillaz will be the next headliner for Fortnite’s Musical Pass. The iconic quartet, created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, will arrive in the battle royale’s metaverse in the coming days with a content package that includes skins of its members, emotes, cosmetic items, and some of their most emblematic songs.

This collaboration will allow players to acquire the appearances of all four band members: 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. Furthermore, the musical pass will incorporate unforgettable tracks like “Clint Eastwood,” “DARE,” and “On Melancholy Hill,” which will become part of the rhythm experiences in the Festival mode.

With this addition, Gorillaz joins the prestigious list of musical superstars who have left their mark on the game. In doing so, the virtual band follows in the footsteps of giants like Metallica, pop princess Lady Gaga, the funk of Bruno Mars—whom they are directly replacing—, virtual diva Hatsune Miku, and pop star Sabrina Carpenter. This continued commitment to top-tier artists confirms the resounding success of the Festival mode, solidifying it as a fundamental pillar within the Fortnite ecosystem.

A Season at its Most Intense Point

The announcement comes at a key moment in the current Fortnite season, which began in early August and is now approaching its midpoint. As usual, Epic Games continues to regularly introduce adjustments and new features to keep the experience fresh and dynamic, paving the way for the reset that will bring a new season and a completely new theme.

The collaboration’s announcement trailer, published on official channels, offers a preview of how the unique aesthetic and universe of Gorillaz will be integrated into the world of Fortnite, promising a fusion that is as innovative as it is explosively musical.
