Samsung Shakes Up the Market with Its First Smart OLED Monitor at a Stunning Price

Samsung’s new Smart Monitor M9 combines a 32″ 4K QD-OLED display with advanced AI features for an exceptional visual experience. After its debut at CES 2025, the device is now hitting select markets priced at $1,599, though its availability in Spain remains unconfirmed.

The monitor boasts a 32″ QD-OLED panel with 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms (GTG) response time. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC, eliminating screen tearing in games. Other key features include:

  • HDR10+ and 99% sRGB coverage.
  • 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and smart calibration.
  • AI-powered image optimizer4K Pro upscaling, and a gaming mode with ultrawide view and virtual crosshairs.

Running on Samsung’s Tizen OS, the M9 integrates Smart TV functions, such as:

  • 12MP camera with a built-in microphone.
  • 10W speakers with Adaptive Pro Sound.
  • Multi View mode for split-screen multitasking.
  • Support for Alexa and Bixby, plus Knox security.

While it includes a USB-C port with 90W charging, it only has one HDMI 2.1 and one DisplayPort 1.4, limiting multi-device connectivity.

For budget-conscious buyers, Samsung offers the M8 ($699) and M7 ($399), which feature 4K 60Hz panels but lack OLED technology.

Though its AI integration and OLED quality are impressive, its high price puts it in direct competition with larger OLED TVs or gaming monitors from brands like Alienware, LG, or ASUS. Do you really need a monitor with Smart TV features? The choice depends on your priorities.

What do you think? Would you invest in this hybrid between a monitor and a TV?
