Could MicroLED TVs—considered the best display technology—soon become available in standard sizes at reasonable prices?
But what if MicroLED could be adapted to mainstream sizes, like 65 inches, and become affordable? Dr. Reaz Chaji, CEO of VueReal, a microtechnology specialist, believes it’s possible thanks to an innovative manufacturing method.
The Key: MicroSolid Printing and Quantum Vue
VueReal developed MicroSolid Printing, a technique that “prints” MicroLEDs directly onto displays using prefabricated cartridges. This not only reduces defects (avoiding material waste) but also cuts costs.
Unlike current processes (where a flaw forces entire panels to be discarded), this technology allows for inspection and correction before mass production. Additionally, their Quantum Vue system enhances performance, making it feasible to produce MicroLEDs for smaller screens.
The End of OLED and LCD?
While OLEDs dominate for their deep blacks and mini-LEDs compete in brightness, Dr. Chaji claims MicroLED will surpass both—delivering perfect blacks, precise colors, and peak brightness, all in a “future-proof” package.
“OLED and LCD will disappear. They won’t meet the functionality the market demands,” he states. Though he acknowledges high costs and supply chain complexities as hurdles, he’s confident his technology will scale MicroLED to monitors, laptops, and tablets.
When Will It Reach Consumers?
There’s no exact timeline yet, but Dr. Chaji confirms the technology is ready. The remaining challenge is optimizing manufacturing ecosystems. If this is resolved, affordable MicroLED TVs could arrive sooner than expected.
In short: MicroLED promises to revolutionize the market by combining the best of OLED and mini-LED, but its success hinges on the industry’s ability to produce it at competitive prices.
