NVIDIA and Foxconn could mark a milestone in industrial automation by deploying AI-powered humanoid robots in the production of advanced servers. According to reports, the two companies are in talks to integrate these machines into a specialized facility, where they would take over tasks traditionally performed by humans, such as assembly, wiring, and material transport.
Robots on the Production Line: The Future of Manufacturing?
As reported by Reuters, the deal between NVIDIA and Foxconn is nearing finalization, with humanoid robots set to be incorporated into the manufacturing of GB300 servers, designed for AI applications. These androids, equipped with cutting-edge technology, could handle repetitive and precision-driven tasks, optimizing production efficiency.
The first units are expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026, following a training period in basic functions. Foxconn plans to unveil a prototype at an event in late 2025, marking a key step toward adopting this technology in the industry.
Isaac GR00T: The Platform Powering the Next Generation of Robots
This advancement aligns with NVIDIA’s strategy to accelerate autonomous robot development. The company recently introduced Isaac GR00T, a system leveraging tools like Omniverse and Jetson AGX Thor, enabling humanoids to perform tasks such as object manipulation, inspection, and assembly.
On its developer portal, NVIDIA highlights that these robots can process multimodal inputs (voice and images) and are optimized for repetitive tasks, with key advantages: they require no rest and can operate continuously.
Foxconn Bets on Automation in Houston
Foxconn’s Houston facility is set to become the hub for this innovation, chosen for its capacity to accommodate mobile robots—whether bipedal or more cost-effective wheeled models. Though the exact number of units remains undisclosed, they are expected to work alongside human employees in manufacturing the servers.
During GTC 2025, NVIDIA showcased prototypes, including a model inspired by BD-1 (the charismatic droid from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor), demonstrating its focus on blending functionality and design. With this project, the company aims not only to streamline production but also to redefine automation’s role in the tech industry.
