The lack of timely communication by the Claro company owned by magnate Carlos Slim has generated a diversity of opinions, some understanding the situation and others demanding an explanation.
Users throughout the region, from Panama to Guatemala, have reported internet connection problems, difficulties with video calls and payment for electronic services.
The failure has alerted regulatory entities to review the quality of the service and fines have not been ruled out.
In Nicaragua, Telcor. The Nicaraguan sector regulator has urged Claro to take the necessary measures to restore service, however, problems persist.
