Spotify Makes Playlist Transfers Easy with TuneMyMusic Integration

Spotify has integrated a new feature that simplifies the transition for users switching from other audio platforms. The company recently announced a collaboration with TuneMyMusic, a service that enables the transfer of playlists from competing apps directly into a user’s Spotify library.

This new feature, now active for all subscribers, is located within the “Your Library” section of the mobile app. By scrolling to the bottom of this section, users will find the “Import your music” option. Tapping it initiates a guided process to connect with the external transfer service.

Once connected, users can select the source platform for their playlists—including Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Tidal—and the selections will be automatically copied to their personal Spotify library. It is important to note that this process does not delete the original playlists; it simply creates a duplicate on the new platform.

With this move, Spotify positions itself on par with competitors like Apple Music and YouTube Music, which already offer similar playlist import capabilities. For users who value the portability of their music collections, this integrated feature could be a decisive factor when choosing a streaming service.

Furthermore, it offers a distinct advantage over using TuneMyMusic’s standalone website, which only allows the free transfer of 500 songs. Through Spotify’s integration, this limit appears to be waived, eliminating the need for a paid subscription to transfer larger libraries.

The specifics of the agreement between the two companies have not been disclosed, but it undoubtedly represents a significant growth opportunity for TuneMyMusic through massive visibility, and for Spotify, by becoming a more attractive option for potential new users.
