Trump Ends Legal Battle Over Twitter Ban

The legal dispute between former President Donald Trump and the company now known as X, formerly Twitter, appears to have come to an end.

Trump filed a lawsuit against the platform after his access was suspended following the events of January 6, 2021, when his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol. Although a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit in 2022, Trump’s legal team continued to file appeals.

Shortly after the court’s decision, Elon Musk, who has become a key ally of Trump, acquired Twitter (now X) and reinstated the former president’s account. Subsequently, other platforms like Facebook also restored his presence, although Trump continues to post primarily on Truth Social, a social network owned by Trump Media & Technology Group.

In a document submitted to the court, a request was made to dismiss the case, with no specific details revealed about the agreement between Trump and X, except that both parties will cover their own legal costs.

It is worth noting that in January, Meta agreed to pay $25 million to settle a similar lawsuit related to Trump’s suspension on Instagram and Facebook.
