The next version of Xiaomi’s operating system will incorporate several design cues from iOS 26, marking a significant evolution in its interface.
If your smartphone is among the 96 selected models set to receive HyperOS 3, you have good reason to be excited. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Xiaomi plans to introduce major visual changes in its upcoming software update. The company surprised users by releasing the first screenshots showcasing the redesign, new elements, and some of the improvements coming with this version.
Although Xiaomi hasn’t shared a large number of images or details, it did publish a couple of previews in the form of a survey to gather feedback from its Chinese users. These screenshots are already circulating globally, offering a glimpse of what HyperOS 3 will bring.
When Will HyperOS 3 Arrive?
For now, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed an exact release date but has hinted that this update will be based on Android 15 and Android 16. The latest devices will be able to take full advantage of all features, while other models will receive only the aesthetic enhancements. Fortunately, the newly revealed design changes will be present across all variants.
HyperOS 3’s New Look: Key Design Features
Although Xiaomi hasn’t released extensive videos or a detailed changelog, the leaked screenshots provide a clear idea of HyperOS 3’s visual experience. Here are the main highlights:
🔹 “Liquid Glass” Aesthetic Inspired by iOS 26
HyperOS 3 adopts design elements similar to those introduced by Apple in its latest OS, including glass-like effects and reflections—though with less advanced animations. Expanded folders, translucent bars, and gradients suggest Xiaomi is following iOS’s design language. A clear example is the floating search button above the dock, which reflects this new approach.
🔹 Redesigned Icons
App icons will receive a more dynamic treatment, with color gradients, subtle shadows, and a less flat appearance, adding greater visual depth.
🔹 More Polished Interface
The company has also refined other UI elements, such as the battery and Wi-Fi indicators, which now feature a more minimalist design akin to iOS 26. These changes may extend to other parts of the system.
While not a complete overhaul, these images give us a sense of Xiaomi’s direction with HyperOS 3. There’s no confirmation yet on global availability, but the brand has assured it will roll out to 96 of its devices, with visual improvements included across the board.
