Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez Lead Blue Origin’s All-Female Space Mission

Jeff Bezos’ rocket company, Blue Origin, announced this Thursday the list of passengers who will be part of its upcoming space mission, confirming a trend: more wealthy individuals will have the opportunity to travel to space.

Among the most notable names in the crew are the famous singer Katy Perry and the renowned journalist Gayle King. Additionally, two science experts, Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyen, will participate, along with television host and Jeff Bezos’ partner, Lauren Sánchez, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

Blue Origin has emphasized that this will be the first space crew composed exclusively of women since the historic flight of Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, who became the first woman to travel to space. For the company’s New Shepard rocket, this will be its thirty-first journey to space and the eleventh with a crew on board.

This experience is expected to last approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Furthermore, if anyone is interested in a similar adventure, they can secure their spot on future spaceflights with an initial deposit of $150,000.
