The cryptocurrency exchange platform Jupiter launches a new app that allows card deposits.

The Jupiter Mobile app offers users the option to make deposits using Apple Pay, credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal.

On October 8, the decentralized exchange (DEX) based on Solana (SOL), Jupiter, announced the availability of its app on iOS.

One of its most notable features is the ability to deposit funds on the platform via bank and credit cards.

At this time, the app is only compatible with Apple Pay, although Google Pay is expected to be added soon. However, the app is not yet available on Google Play.

Can Jupiter compete with other DEXs?

Jupiter is part of the Solana ecosystem and is considered one of the most prominent applications developed on its blockchain.

According to DeFiLlama, Jupiter ranks third in total value locked (TVL) among Solana-based chains, with $1.25 billion in assets.

The top spots are occupied by Jito and Kamino, with $1.91 billion and $1.51 billion in TVL, respectively.

The leading decentralized finance (DeFi) exchange remains Uniswap (UNI), with a TVL of $4.62 billion.

Uniswap also has its own app, available on Google Play and the Apple Store. However, it currently does not offer a direct option to pay with bank cards or use Apple Pay/Google Pay. Users must connect their cryptocurrency wallets to platforms that support these payment methods.

Jupiter’s price remains unchanged despite the app launch

Despite the app launch, the value of Jupiter (JUP) did not experience an upward movement. According to CoinGecko data, the token’s price dropped by 4.6% in the last 24 hours.

On October 7, JUP was priced at $0.81, but by October 8, it had fallen to $0.73.
